Blizzard has announced a free to play weekend for its wildly-popular game Overwatch on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Gamers can play the whole game for free next weekend as a part of the game’s promotion, which starts Friday September 22 and ends on Monday, September 26.

The Overwatch free to play weekend begins next week on Friday at 11am PT until 10:59pm PT on Monday. Hence, it’s a great opportunity for those who haven’t given a shot at the game yet, as the full version of Overwatch will be available for free during the coming weekend.

During the weekend, players will be able to try out all 16 maps, 25 characters, as well as all game modes such as Arcade, Quick Play, and more. In addition, players can also get Loot Boxes and unlock customization options.

If you decide to purchase a copy of Overwatch after tyring it out during the weekend, you’ll get to keep any progress that you made during the weekend. All you need to make sure is to log-in using the same Battle.net, Xbox Live Gold or Sony PlayStation Plus account that you played on. Blizzard has also provided a list of instructions on how to download the game on your PC, PS4 or Xbox One during the free weekend trial. You can see the instructions on the company’s official page.

Once the free-to-play weekend is over, Overwatch will also get a new map called Junkertown. The new map will arrive in the game on September 19 on the Xbox One, PS4, and the PC.

“Junkertown is an Escort map located in the harsh and unforgiving Australian Outback. Constructed from the remains of a destroyed omnium, it’s now the home to a band of lawless scavengers known as the Junkers, led by their cutthroat Queen”, explains Blizzard.

In case you missed, Blizzard has also announced its plans to open a dedicated e-sports arena in Burbank, California. The new e-sports facility will be called Blizzard Arena Los Angeles, and will situated inside the Burbank Studios – the same studio which brought us “The Tonight Show”.
