Barry Williams is getting real about the past relationships and relationships shared between his “Brady Bunch” co-stars.
“We’ve all reached out to each other at some point,” the 69-year-old actor said. Us Weekly. “Not necessarily while filming.”
“I dated Maureen [McCormick]And Chris [Knight] Eve dated [Plum] And Michael [Lookinland] And Susan [Olsen] He had a little fake wedding at one point. “So, yeah, we all connected,” he added.
While Williams said the “relationships” were only between younger stars, he had a “teenage crush” on his TV mother, the late Florence Henderson.
“I definitely had a crush on her as a teenager,” Williams said. “She has a bubbly personality and a great sense of humour, but I knew I wanted to have music in my career [in] Acting, so I talked to her a lot about that.
“I found this singer coming to the Copacabana near Beverly Hills,” he continued. “I can’t think of exactly where it was, but I invited her to go on a date, and she said, ‘Okay,’ so I was thrilled. And now, for me, it was a date.”
“We were recognized, people were whispering about us, which was weird, but we talked about the singer and his band and the band he had, and what the tour was like,” Williams added. “And it gave me an idea of what that life would be like now at the end of history. That’s chronicled in my book as well. I went in for a little kiss, and she was kind enough to return it. So it was a highlight. A nice little peck, yeah.”
The Brady Bunch aired for five seasons on ABC from 1969 to 1974, and its success spawned numerous spinoff titles.
In 2021, Williams spoke candidly about how he explored fame at a young age.
“The years were very intense for me,” Williams recalled on the Australian morning talk show.Extra day. “All my teenage years, from 14 to 20, I watched The Brady Bunch.”
“There were a lot of changes,” Williams said of going through the physical changes with his younger teammates. “You can hear the voice changing, you can see the hair changing, you can see the growth spurts that happen with all of us.”
“So, it was sometimes embarrassing and sometimes fun, but I always enjoyed people watching the show,” he added.
