Assassins Creed: Origins will reportedly have loot boxes that’ll be available in the game as Heka chests. The feature essentially allows players to buy special items or get rewarded with a special item. In the case of the forthcoming iteration in the Assassins Creed franchise, players will be rewarded with a shield or a random sword.

Heka boxes were discovered in the upcoming title’s preview builds, and it appears players will be able to buy Heka boxes using the in-game currency.

Loot boxes are becoming increasingly common in recently launched games. Even new releases such as Forza Motorsport 7 as well as Middle-Earth Shadow of War also feature loot boxes.

However, there are divided opinions about this particular game mechanic. Some players are totally against loot boxes, while other suggest that its fine as long as it does not give players an unfair advantage.

In any case, we’ll see how this game mechanic turns out upon the game’s release. Assassins Creed: Origins is all set for a release on October 27 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, as well as the PC.

Elsewhere, new details as to how players can take different approaches to completing quests in Assassins Creed Origins were also revealed recently via a post on Ubiblog.

“Each mission gives you a set of objectives, and it’s up to you to decide which of your varied tools and tactics to use to achieve them. Sometimes, though, you’re going to encounter enemies that can cut you down with one swing of their axe – and while you’re free to put a mission on hold until you’ve levelled up enough to come back and tear through the opposition, sometimes it’s more fun to find a less-direct method,” explains the blogpost.

Hence, it appears players will have total freedom in completing quests in Assassins Creed Origins. They’ll have the ability to switch between different approaches depending on what suits their style of play. Players can either opt for a stealth approach or go all guns blazing if they think they can easily take down their enemies.
