Apple starts rolling out the new iOS 11.0.2 update for compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. The latest update primarily focuses on fixing bugs found in iOS 11.0.1.

Going by the changelog, the latest iOS 11.0.2 update fixes an issue which caused crackling sound during calls on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Apple suggests that only a handful of units were affected by this issue, the fix for which has now been rolled out with iOS 11.0.2.

Elsewhere, the latest iOS 11 update also fixes a bug which caused photos to go into hiding. Also, it patches a bug that led to issues with attachments in S/MIME encrypted emails, as they failed to open.

Besides the aforementioned three patch fixes, no other key details about the latest iOS 11.0.2 update have been noted. It appears that Apple has specifically focused on fixing bugs in iOS 11.0.2 that were found in iOS 11.0.1.

The new iOS 11.0.2 update weighs in at 286.1MB. To download the update, make sure you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network. Then, simply head over to Settings, then go to General and then click on the Software Update icon. Then simply click ‘Download and Install’ to apply the new iOS 11.0.2 update.

To recall, the latest iOS 11 was released on September 19, 2017, for compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. The latest version of iOS brings several improvements such as a redesigned Control Center and App store, new features in iMessage, Do Not Disturb While Driving feature, improved Siri, as well as better camera capabilities.

The list of devices eligible to get the latest version of iOS include the newly launched iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus. While older devices include the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone SE, iPhone 5s will get the update. That said, legacy Apple devices which include the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, or iPhone 5C you will not get the latest version of iOS.

iOS 11 is also available for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro (second generation), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (first generation), 10.5-inch iPad Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad (fifth generation), iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad Mini 4, 3 and 2. In addition, even the sixth generation iPod Touch is eligible to get the new iOS 11 update.
