A rumour has surfaced in which it is expected that the Apple may provide cheaper iPad and MacBooks this year. Multiple reports said that MacBook may get cheaper. According to DigiTimes, it said that Apple will be launching a new 13.3 inch “ entry-level” MacBook at the end of this year.
The entry-level MacBooks will have a 13.3-inch amorphous silicon panel with a 2560 × 1600 resolution. The production will start at the end of May or at the beginning of June with the Supply of LG Display panel in the month of April. 70 percent of Apple orders will be handled by Quanta Computer while rest 30 percent will be handled by Foxconn.
Ming-Chi Kuo, the analyst at KGI Securities said that Apple will be releasing a cheap 13-inch MacBook Air in the second quarter of the year. The low price of the Apple will help it to boost its sale. The price of the new MacBook Air will be between $799 to $899 as claimed by Taiwan’s Economic Daily News. Presently, the current 13-inch MacBook Air cost $999.
The DigiTimes report state that a 9.7-inch iPad and a new iPad Pro are expected to launch during the second half of the year.
In December 2017, a report had said that the 9.7 inch iPad will cost around $259 while the original price of the same was $329 when it was released.
Apple is said to be targeting about 6 million units of entry-level MacBooks to be sold in 2018 but it only achieved a mark of 4 million due to cost. With slashing the price of the products Apple now eyeing to sell more units in the current fiscal year.
