After officially setting up his next film at Universal and selecting Matt Damon to star, Christopher Nolan has set his sights on another star to fill the lineup, with sources telling Deadline that Tom Holland is in talks to star.
The film will be released via IMAX on July 17, 2026. This date is in line with a number of Nolan films that have had similar release dates in the past.
Universal had no comment on the Netherlands talks.
As with any Nolan project, story details remain secret, though sources say the film is expected to shoot in early 2025.
As with any of his upcoming films, high-profile talent always jump at the chance to join a Nolan film, and it appears that Holland has been at the top of the director’s list of stars for some time. While this will be the third time Damon and Nolan have worked together, it will be the first time Holland and the Oscar winner have worked together. Oppenheimer I have collaborated with the director.
Holland is coming off an acclaimed performance in the London theater production romeo and juliet, Which ran this summer for 12 weeks at the Duke of York’s Theatre. It was also a huge success at the box office spider-man: no way home, With a follow-up picture in development and Holland expected to reprise his role as Peter Parker.
