Nintendo unexpectedly released a new update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, bringing the game to version 13.0.3.

Today’s update addresses an issue with Global Smash Power. Nintendo points out that the patch may cause backward compatibility issues, so players are advised to convert it to a video before installing the update.

The official patch notes for today’s update are as follows:

  • Fixed an issue where Global Smash Power would not return to proper levels when timed to disconnect at the end of a match.

Note: There may be compatibility issues with remasters. 9.0.0 to 13.0.2. Reprint from version. 8.1.0 and earlier are not compatible. If you want to keep replays, convert them to videos before installing the update. You can do this via Vault → Replays → Replay Data → Convert to Video.

This is it The first update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate since February. However, the patch was expected to add compatibility with the Sora amiibo.

Nintendo has pretty much moved on from the game, which makes sense since there are no more DLC characters planned and it’s been several years out at this point. However, it appears that patches will still be provided if they are required to fix bugs or anything else the company deems necessary.
