Deepwater’s Gene Munster and Brian Baker shared their takeaways from the Tesla robo-taxi event. TSLA analysts expect the company to unveil a stripped-down Model 3 during its Robotaxi event.
Deepwater analysts believe Tesla will do just that Three vehicles detected During the “We, Robot” event: Model 2, Cybervan, Cybercab or robotaxi.
Monster assumes the Model 2 will be a stripped-down version of the Model 3 because Elon Musk delayed the Tesla Robotaxi event to make “significant changes”“ to yElectronic cab vehicle. The TSLA bull believes that if Musk is still making changes to the design of the cybercab (aka robotaxi), production will likely be delayed as well.

Monster expects Tesla Model 2 production to begin in late 2025, which is later than Elon Musk estimated during his Q2 2024 earnings call.
“We won’t get too into the product roadmap here because that’s for product announcement events. But we’re on track to deliver an affordable model in the first half of next year,” Musk said in the second quarter.
The Model 2 is expected to start at $25,000. Here are Monster’s forecasts for the robotaxi, the Model 2, and the Cybertron.
1. Robotaxi: I expect we’ll see a physical prototype of the Robotaxi. We also think the model will have a futuristic feel, like the Cybertruck, without a steering wheel, pedals or mirrors. In addition, the reveal will include a “demo” Of Robotaxi in action, which is summoned by Tesla’s taxi-booking app and demonstrates its autonomous capabilities by maneuvering down some sort of lane or road.
2. Model 2: The $25,000 Model 2 (aka Model A) will be previewed without a working prototype. I expect this car to do so It will share similarities with Robotaxi. While the Model 2 will have a steering wheel, pedals and mirrors, it will not require FSD operation. The body will be differentiated from the Robotaxi, but will generally be the same production as the Robotaxi.
3. Cybervan: And in a similar surprise to The updated Roadster is emerging from the back of the semi at launchI expect Elon to reveal plans for a fully self-driving passenger van (Robotaxi XL that seats 8-10 people). While the passenger van will be light on Tesla’s signature design, it will be heavy on leveraging autonomy for the vision of affordable passenger transportation. This vehicle will focus on dense urban areas and could play a role in the future of public transportation, which we estimate will expand the market for addressable passenger transportation services by 20%.
