A familiar theme surrounding the Dallas Cowboys over the past few seasons is that Dak Prescott is a stat monster who just can’t get the job done in the win column in Dallas. Prescott ranks third in the league in passing yards for the 2-2 Cowboys, and while the offense has been moving the ball in the air, it’s been the defense that’s been getting the bulk of the negative headlines this early part of the year. While Dallas allowed just 26 rushing yards to the Giants, the team still ranks near the bottom of the NFL in rushing defense and will be without interior lineman DeMarcus Lawrence for at least a month due to a foot injury.
That could be a good combination for the 3-1 Steelers, who boast an offense that is top-10 in the league in rushing and is committed to the ground game with quarterback Justin Fields still finding his footing. Russell Wilson is close to returning from a calf injury, but with a dominant defense — second in points allowed, fourth in yards allowed — Mike Tomlin may just need a game manager on offense to jump out to a 4-1 lead and an early lead in the AFC North on Baltimore Ravens Rise.
