Bears players meet with offensive coordinator out of frustration

The Chicago Bears aren’t waiting for their problems to get worse.

according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports40-year-old Marcedes Lewis, fellow center and rookie Cole Kimmitt, as well as rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, met with Bears offensive coordinator Shane Waldron to discuss the team’s early season offensive struggles.

“We’re not a Pop Warner team. You have to coach us. Coach me even though I’m 19. Coach Caleb even though he’s a rookie,” Lewis said in the meeting, according to Glazer.

Points have been hard to come by for the Bears to start the season.

The team was entering Sunday’s home game against the Rams with a score of 1-2 and had only broken the 20-point threshold once.

Bears kicker Torrey Taylor has already made 15 tackles in the three contests.

Williams was limited offensively, completing 70 passes on 118 attempts, recording 630 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.

The Bears’ leading receiver, DJ Moore, only racked up 167 yards on 19 catches.

The team also wasn’t terribly productive on the ground, recording just 218 yards on 72 carries.

Most notably, starting running back D’Andre Swift had 68 yards on 37 carries.

Chicago led Los Angeles 10-6 at halftime on Sunday despite producing just 97 yards of offense.
