Exclusive: Emmy Award Winner Kyle Chandler Negotiates to Star in LanternsHBO is in the process of developing a high-profile series based on DC’s Green Lantern comic book, sources tell Deadline.
No one is commenting, but I hear Chandler is set to play Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern character played by Ryan Reynolds in the 2011 film.
The series from Ozarks Chris Mundy guardsDamon Lindelof and comics writer Tom King follow new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Jordan, two intergalactic cops who become embroiled in a dark, Earth-based mystery while investigating a murder in the heartland of America.
The search is still on for an actor to play Stewart.
Episode 8 Lanterns The series is produced by HBO in association with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios. Mundy, who will serve as showrunner, Lindelof and King are co-writing and executive producing. The project, which received a straight-to-series order in June, marks one of the first titles to emerge from the revamped DC Studios.
John Stewart and Hal Jordan are two of DC’s most compelling characters, and Lanterns Brings them to life in an original detective story that forms a core part of the unified DCU we’re launching next summer. SupermanDC Studios Chairman and Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran said at the time of the series announcement:
