WASHINGTON – A presidential candidate who won’t give an interview? Kamala Harris could become the first female president of the United States, but there are no personal interviews with her. The campaign team of her rival, Donald Trump, took advantage of this and publicly counted the number of days Harris spoke to the media. Both the Republican candidate and his running mate mentioned this in their rally speeches.

Harris was criticized and ridiculed for refusing to grant personal interviews before the US election

Also present was James Haggerty, a crisis communications specialist Newsweek Harris previously said he was making a “mistake” by avoiding the press. The last lengthy interview took place on June 24, when he spoke to MSNBC as part of Joe Biden’s campaign team.

A CNN exclusive of a joint interview between Harris and his running mate, Tim Walls, prompted several jokes from Trump supporters such as conservative political activist Charlie Kirk. “She needs emotional support to face the media and defend her unacceptable record,” Kirk posted on X. “Is this a joke?” Harris responded to Kirk’s post by saying he has “zero talent.” She was not only allowed to appear on CNN.

Ahead of US election: Kamala Harris meets press alone

Now Harris has broken her silence and given her first face-to-face interview as a White House candidate with ABC News affiliate Brian Duff. He talked about giving new small businesses a $50,000 tax break because “no one can start a small business with $5,000.” He will also work to tackle the “housing shortage” by offering $25,000 down payments to first-time buyers to ensure the American dream is no longer “out of reach” for young citizens.

Harris said she plans to increase the child tax credit for young families to $6,000 in the first year of their child’s life. All people deserve dignity, “but not everyone necessarily has the resources to allow them to achieve those dreams and ambitions,” Harris and Trump recently launched ad campaigns for their respective candidates.

US Election 2024: Harris calls for unity in America in interview

She also made it a point to highlight the sense of unity in the country. Harris said he has more than 200 Republicans behind him who have served in previous Republican presidential administrations. When the people put forward the party, “it makes us strong and healthy.”

“He knows in his heart that most Americans have more in common than what divides us,” Harris said. “I believe I’m right when I say that most Americans want a leader who unites us as Americans, not someone who pretends to be a leader who tries to unite us by pointing fingers at each other. To be honest, I think people are tired of this approach.

US Election Campaign: Kamala Harris on Gun Rights: “Assault Weapons Are Really Instruments of War”

Gun ownership was also an issue. Harris firmly believes that “we need a ban on assault weapons” is consistent with the Second Amendment. They are actually designed to kill a lot of people. “Tim Walls and I are both gun owners,” Harris said. “We’re not taking anybody’s guns.”

Current polls show Harris narrowly ahead after aggressive TV battle against Trump: According to website data 270 Tawin Harris currently has 226 electoral votes, Trump’s 219, while 93 from the remaining battleground states are too close to be assigned to one camp. (CGSC)
