In addition to his political career and leadership, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is receiving praise from many on social media for his entertainment past.
A montage of Zelensky re-emerged smart on his feet and winning ballet performances for the country’s version of “Dancing with the Stars” from 2006 went viral on Monday.
Fans from Twitter to TikTok are trumpeting Zelensky’s moves — including a number one who saw him and his partner Olena Shoptenko wear full blindfolds as they mentally count steps, and they hit their marks perfectly.
“I actually fainted [sic]” A Tik Tok user commented on a clip of Zelensky and Shoptenko performed.
The celebration of Zelensky’s lightness came just days after British actor Hugh Bonneville, one of the stars of the “Paddington” series, announced that the 44-year-old was the familiar voice behind the Peruvian bear in Ukrainian versions of “Paddington” and “Paddington 2.”
“Until today I had no idea who provided the voice for paddingtonbear in Ukraine. Speaking for myself, thank you Mr. President Zelensky. #PaddingtonBear,” he said in a tweet, along with a video of Zelensky.
The news has since been confirmed by the film’s producer, StudioCanal, to The Hollywood Reporter.
Russia launched an attack on Ukraine, including Kyiv, last week in a decision that Russian authorities described as a “special military operation”.
Other circulating photos also show the founder of the Servant of the People’s Political Party on the front line with many of the men and women of his country, and he has been praised as a “true leader”.
More than 100 civilians have been killed and hundreds injured in more than four days of fighting, according to United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.
