A 5-year-old girl was cut in the face in a broad daylight attack in the Bronx on Friday, police said.
Police said the girl was stabbed in the right side of her face around 3:10 p.m. at the corner of Third Avenue and East Tremont Street – near Walter Gladwin Park.
There is also a public primary school, P723X@Astor, at this intersection.
Police responded to a 911 call about the attack and the child was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
No arrests were immediately made, and the NYPD had no information on a suspect or motive by early evening.
