Trade deadline day is here in Major League Baseball. The MLB 2022 trade deadline or 6pm ET is set for Tuesday (August 2), meaning teams have less than eight hours to consolidate their rosters ahead of the playoff round in August and September. This year’s trade deadline isn’t short for machinations or big names. Citizens Phenomenon Juan Soto is the most popular name on the market, and he could bring in one of the biggest trade packages ever seen after turning down a contract extension offer in Washington.
Most of the action will likely come on Tuesday afternoon, but some teams aren’t waiting to get the work done. The Yankees It was one of the busiest teams in MLB, snapping up rookie Frankie Montas, quarterback Andrew Benentende and underwriters Lou Trevino and Scott Evros. The Padres created a surprising surprise on Monday when they acquired Brewers’ Josh Hader, and the Mariners made waves by trading with Luis Castillo, the best pitcher available.
Wilson Contreras, Ian Happe, Noah Sendergaard and Josh Bell are some of the other notable names that could be transferred by Tuesday night.
